Thousands of Rwandan women are trapped in survival sex work because of generational poverty. They can‟t read or write, and without education, their work opportunities are limited. Women sell their bodies to feed their children because they have no other way to earn money, which makes them feel hopeless.
We find Rwandan women trapped in survival HIV/SIDA and build trust with them to join the Kayonga New Hope foundation program. The women receive counseling and support to help them heal from their trauma. And to fight the children drugs abuse. As they learn to read, write, and count, the women become artisans and make jewelry to provide for their families. Kayonga New Hope foundation gives today, so you can end generational poverty for Rwandan women and instead help them leave survival sex work, Poverty and provide for their families with dignity. Young women participate in our job training program infused with Biblical principles. Training focuses on developing new skills through business development, organizational leadership, financial administration and community impact.
We work with each woman after training to continue developing their business model or idea established during the training. We mentor and prepare each woman to reach a sustainable livelihood. Each woman is given an opportunity to share her business idea with a panel. Those who qualify are assisted with a seed funding grant or a scholarship for access to higher education
